sillyConValley begs to differ. A counterpoint, a unique story that had to be told, sillyConValley dares to rescue Silicon Valley and its Pantheon of founders from their hagiographers. The burden of the story is told from the perspective of a lowly worker bee — a journeyman technical writer, to be exact — who lived and worked in the Valley from bust to boom…and back to bust again. The timeframe is spring of 1986 to summer of 2004. One element of his burden is to tell the whole story of the world’s most renowned center of digital innovation — exploring the ethos and pathos that are peculiarly Silicon Valley’s — describing both the sunny side and the shadow side of the Valley; both the Jekyll and Hyde of Valley culture; both its promise and its peril for human civilization.
